Anyways, it's just about the new year and of course the new year comes with RESOLUTIONS! Essentially this is a list of goals that we tell ourselves that we are going to to in the new year but after about four days we realize these goals are impossible (or we simply don't like them or get bored with them) and we give up. I'm going to try not to do that. So here is my list of resolutions that I will attempt to complete throughout the new year (and not be a wuss and bail out).
- Post in this blog at least once a week. I know that I haven't posted anything here at all for about two months, but I think it will be good for me to do this more frequently. If I bail out on this, it would probably be by February...
- Record at least one song a week and post it online via Youtube, Facebook, Blogspot, or Soundcloud (don't have an account yet so don't go looking for it). I figured that since I go to a music school, and this is a music blog, I should be posting MUSIC!! (said in an astonished voice as if music is the best thing in the world, which it is. Kudos to any of you who get that reference). Even if the song sucks, or is not really complete, I figure that if I do this all year. This means I will post around 50 songs this year, and I'm sure at least 5 of them should be really good.
- Daily fitness. Every day. That can mean pushups, running, crunches, bench pressing my tuba (nerd!), or even surfing. Take the stairs more often. Walk instead of using those cool moving sidewalks in the airport. Walk across the country. Realize that I can't do that because that would take forever. I would say also avoid processed foods when I can, but then I remember that I am a college student and that is essentially what I live on, so I would fail that by day 2.
- Audition for a drum corp. I can't do this until later in the year, but that means I can practice now and get really good at the tuba, plus my increased level of fitness will help with this.
- Get at least a rating 5 at Berklee, and be accepted into the Music Production and Engineering program in the fall.
