102311 - Part 1

Today has been a day. I spent the greater part of the afternoon walking journeying to Taco Bell, a feat which took a good hour or so. The walk was nice. It was in the fifties and windy so it was quite cold. To set the mood even more, the sun was not shining at all today because it was completely overcast, and I just had an eerie feeling most of the time.

Well anyways, we walked along the Esplanade on the Charles River and then crossed over into Cambridge. As soon as we got off the main road, it seemed like we had entered a ghost town. We passed by the huge science buildings of MIT and Cambridge and it was eerily quiet, with very few people and a chill in the air. The sun was still hidden behind the clouds. After about an hour of walking, we finally made it to the promised land - The Cambridge Side Galleria, which housed Taco Bell. Since it was only the third time I've had Taco Bell and I was immensely tired, I really enjoyed it. The mall had the same eerie feel to it, though, even though there were a good amount of people in it. Just the faint music in the background must have done it, or maybe it was just my mindset.

The walk gave me a lot of time to think about things, and just relax and get away from dorm life for a little bit. The leaves on a few of the trees have already began to change color. We played a game where we would stand on the overpass sidewalk and pretend to jump over the cars that were going beneath us. Plus everyone was very enjoyable and fun to be around. I enjoyed getting to know my friends even more, but now I have work to do...

  1. Kind of reminds me of Pink Floyd from back in the day. I remember that night flight with you... thanks for sharing. M
